WEEKEND CLINICS
The Bike House runs two weekly clinics. During our clinics, we invite you to come fix your own bikes, ask advice and get help from our mechanics, meet other bikers in the area, and learn about biking in DC.
- Saturdays 12-3pm | Annie’s Ace Hardware, 1240 Upshur St. NW
- Sundays 11-1pm (May-Nov) | Bloomingdale Farmer’s Market (1st & R St NW)
MOBILE CLINIC
The Bike House operates a mobile clinic around the city, focusing primarily on neighborhoods East of the River (Wards 7 & 8). These clinics are also for people to fix their own bikes and learn basic skills from our mechanics.
CLASSES
The Bike House holds beginner mechanics classes for people who are interested in bikes but haven’t taken the plunge into working on them. The class is a 4-week series that meets Saturday mornings, beginning the first Saturday of each month.
Beginner classes cover basic bike maintenance skills that are useful for every rider to know, including inspecting your bike, patching a flat tire, changing brake pads, adjusting derailleurs, and truing a wheel. After the class is over, new mechanics can work on their own bikes to practice their skills or shadow more experienced mechanics at the Bike House clinics. The class size is limited to 10, so email Faye to sign up in advance.
